Korean drama review #4: I Hear Your Voice

Today’s review is going to about the 2013 courtroom Korean drama ‘I Hear Your Voice’







Plot:

The story starts with Park Soo Ha’s classmate being bullied by the other students. He finds out and fights back.
                                     

 It is later revealed that he has the ability of reading other people’s minds when he looks them in the eyes.

 The story goes back to what happened 10 years ago. Soo Ha and his dad get into a car accident.

 The truck driver, Min Joon Gook comes out to check whether Soo Ha’s dad is alive or not. That is when Soo Ha gets his mind reading ability. He warns his dad about the truck driver who is about to kill him. 

The story later moves back to the present. Both lawyer Cha Gwan Woo and lawyer Jang Hye Sung go to the public defender job interview.

Hye Sung tells about her past experience. She tells about how she was wrongly accused of shooting a firecracker into Seo Do Hyun’s eye and she and her mother had to leave the house they were staying.

 Hye Sung later meets up with Do Hyun and during that time they witness Soo Ha’s accident. Hye Sung takes a picture in her phone of Min Joon Gook murdering Soo Ha’s father. 

They later run away when Min Joon Gook spots them. They hide near a bush and Min Joon Gook couldn’t find them leaves a warning that if they tell anyone about this, he would kill them. Both Do Hyun and Hye Sung agree to be witnesses in Soo Ha’s dad’s case. But Do Hyun goes back on her word Hye Sung testifies the case as witness. Min Joon Gook threatens her that oneday he will come back and kill her for this.

This leaves Hye Sung in despair, Soo Ha promises her that he would protect her.

 Ten years hence, Soo Ha is still looking for Hye Sung and finds her when she is accepted as a public defender and is advertised on the paper. 

Min Joon Gook is released from prison. He plans to kill Hye Sung who testified him ten years ago. Will Soo Ha save Hye Sung from being killed by Min Joon Gook?

Music:

The music enhanced the drama’s feeling.

Personal views:

The drama was very interesting and constantly made me wonder what would happen next. The drama had unexpected twists which made it even more interesting to watch.

I would give a rating of 10/10 for this drama.

Korean drama review #3: City Hunter

Today’s review is going to be about the 2011 romantic action drama ‘City Hunter’ This drama is actually based on a Japanese manga written by Tsukasa Hojo.

Plot:

 In the year 1983, there is a bombing incident when the South Korean president is Burma. Due to this incident, two presidential bodyguards Lee Jin Pyo and Park Moo Yul organize a team and are sent to North Korea on the order of five South Korean officials without the knowledge of the president.

  Later the five officials abandon the team due to the president’s disapproval. They plan to erase all evidences of that mission.

The team successfully finishes the mission and when waiting for a submarine in the  river Nampo, the solders are shot dead one by one by their own countrymen.  Park Moo Yul sacrifices his life for Jin Pyo’s. The bullet that killed Moo Yul is now stuck in Jin Pyo arm. Moo Yul tells his last wishes to Jin Pyo and sinks.

Jin Pyo swims back to South Korea and meets Eung Chan and says he would come back for revenge. 

Later Jin Pyo kidnaps Moo Yul’s son and flees to the Triangle. Moo Yul’s son now grow’s up as Poo Chai. 

One day while roaming around the city, he saves a Korean, Bae Shik Joong from thugs. During that day the thugs attack him in his home. When a thug is about to shoot him, his growth mother interrupts and dies. On witnessing this Yoon Sung goes after the thugs only to  step on a landmine buried in his own garden.

His bullets runs out and when the thugs are about to shoot him, Jin Pyo saves him. He also saves him from the land mine during which he loses his leg instead. Jin Pyo later tells the story of Yoon Sung’s original father’s death. Yoon Sung later decides to go to South Korea and take his revenge on the behalf of Jin Pyo. 

He meets Kim Na Na who was his designated driver. 

He later pays her father’s medical bills. He joins the Blue house as PhD holder from MIT and he also meets Na Na as a presidential bodyguard. 
She starts to make errands for him to pay back the medical bills. Yoon Sung starts his revenge with Lee Kyung Wan .He is named as ‘City Hunter’ by the media. Prosecutor Kim Young Joo starts to investigate City Hunter’s case when Lee Kyung Wan is delivered at his office.

 Will Yoon Sung get his revenge? Will Young Joo find out City Hunter’s true identity and arrest him?
       

Music:

The music highlighted the action scenes and the mood of the scene. You cannot ignore the instrumentals in the drama, they are that good.

Personal views:

I loved the drama. I made me want to keep watching it. It was very interesting and left me with no clue of what is going to happen next.

I would give a rating of 10/10 because this drama very interesting.

Korean drama review #2: Big

Today’s review is about the Korean drama ‘Big












Plot:

The story begins with the lead female Gil Da Ran going to deliver a wedding bouquet to a client. She finds out is her friend’s wedding to which she didn't get invited to.





She buys a meal ticket and goes to eat. While having her meal, she gets a phone call that the bouquet has been misplaced. When the bride is about to throw the bouquet, she deliberately tries to catch to catch the bouquet but falls down. She meets the man of her dreams in that wedding.


 One day while travelling in a bus, the story she told was announced in the radio. She takes the umbrella of an 18 year old boy, Kang Gyung Joon . He follows her out of the bus leaving her umbrella behind. It is soon reveled that he is a transfer student in the school Gil Da Ran works as a student teacher.


A rift develops between Yoon Jae and her before their wedding so Kang Gyung Joon takes her to a river side. She gets a call from Yoon Jae and she questions him whether he really loves her or not. He asks her where she is and come to meet her.




Kang Gyung Joon leaves her behind and goes. On a bridge, both Yoon Jae and Gyung Joon get into an accident together. Yoon Jae tries to save Gyung Joon but dies.



 Gyung Joon is now unconscious but when he wakes up, he finds himself in Yoon Jae’s body. What would happen to Gyung Joon now?Would he return back to his own body?
Would Gil Da Ran’s wedding commence as planned?

Music:

The music highlighted the scenes even more.

Personal views:

The drama dragged a bit in during the last few episodes and the ending was satisfactory.

I would give the drama a rating of 8/10
