The story starts with Park Soo Ha’s classmate being bullied by the other students. He finds out and fights back.

It is later revealed that he has the ability of reading other people’s minds when he looks them in the eyes.

The story goes back to what happened 10 years ago. Soo Ha and his dad get into a car accident.

The truck driver, Min Joon Gook comes out to check whether Soo Ha’s dad is alive or not. That is when Soo Ha gets his mind reading ability. He warns his dad about the truck driver who is about to kill him.

The story later moves back to the present. Both lawyer Cha Gwan Woo and lawyer Jang Hye Sung go to the public defender job interview.

Hye Sung tells about her past experience. She tells about how she was wrongly accused of shooting a firecracker into Seo Do Hyun’s eye and she and her mother had to leave the house they were staying.

Hye Sung later meets up with Do Hyun and during that time they witness Soo Ha’s accident. Hye Sung takes a picture in her phone of Min Joon Gook murdering Soo Ha’s father.

They later run away when Min Joon Gook spots them. They hide near a bush and Min Joon Gook couldn’t find them leaves a warning that if they tell anyone about this, he would kill them. Both Do Hyun and Hye Sung agree to be witnesses in Soo Ha’s dad’s case. But Do Hyun goes back on her word Hye Sung testifies the case as witness. Min Joon Gook threatens her that oneday he will come back and kill her for this.

This leaves Hye Sung in despair, Soo Ha promises her that he would protect her.

Ten years hence, Soo Ha is still looking for Hye Sung and finds her when she is accepted as a public defender and is advertised on the paper.
